09 Mar A dress for the Oscars
A run against time, an important commitment of our dressmakers, many hours bent over to embroider a red fabric with beads, tubes, rhinestones and sequins.. The fabric’s basting creates unique shapes, it is a dress, but not a common one.. It is a mermaid dress, a gala dress…
When our customer, La Perla, commissioned the work to us, the key words were quality and urgency. The stylists gave us all the information needed to create the “unique piece” without tell us to whom the dress was addressed. Sometimes, it is better do not know something because in certain situations, the knowledge could become tension and in job like this, it is not a good allied.
The dressmaker trace the silhouette contours with a steady and firm hand and it is clear that the dress is addressed to a graceful and harmonious figure.
The embroidery’s base is traced, the true work starts as well as the run against time.
Many experts hands alternate themselves in the work to realize the all over embroidery, the hours cannot be counted as well as the kilometres travelled to bring and recover the embroideries during all the different steps.
The embroidery takes shape, the contours are defining, shiny leaves and flowers are born from the red base of the fabric.
In the meanwhile, the hours go quickly and the moment of the delivering is approaching inexorably…
The dress has to go to New York and the dressmakers in Bologna are waiting for the embroidered panels to make their magic…
Once achieved the goal, the race starts with the first goal of bringing the last embroidered panels to dressmakers of the brand La Perla. It’s night but the dress must go to New York and the plane does not wait for it.
The curiosity is much and to see the dress we have realised is our biggest satisfaction but what a surprise discover that it was addressed just to the beautiful and fascinating Julia Haart, the creative director of the italian brand La Perla,
Thanks to the La Perla brand for the important opportunity given to us.
